Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
US Energy Map ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain because the data we collect is minimal.
What we collect
- The name and email address you provide when you unlock the full interactive map. That's the only personal information we ask for.
- Basic, anonymous usage data your browser sends automatically (e.g., pages viewed), if and when we enable analytics. This is aggregated and not used to identify you.
We do not collect payment information, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
How we use it
- To give you access to the full map.
- To send you occasional updates about US Energy Map — new data, features, and product offerings we think you'll find useful.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
We will not email you about anything unrelated to US Energy Map without your consent.
What we don't do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or personal information to anyone.
- We do not share your information with third parties except service providers that help us operate (for example, our form and email delivery tools), who may only use it to provide those services to us.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-outs promptly.
- Access or deletion. You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email us (below) and we'll take care of it.
- EU/UK and Canadian residents have additional rights under the GDPR and CASL respectively; we honor those requests the same way.
Data retention & security
We keep your email only as long as you're subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. We use reputable third-party providers to store and send email and take reasonable measures to protect your information, though no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Service providers we use
We currently use Web3Forms to receive sign-ups and may use an email-delivery provider (such as Mailchimp or Kit) to send updates. These providers process your information only on our behalf.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
